About:
Growing up in Oklahoma with a medical background and raising a family of husband and four children there was always a love of art, but no outlet. About 30 years ago, being greatly influenced by her beloved Aunt Lilly, she began making traditional quilts. Frustrated by repeating the same designs, not cutting straight, and points not matching, she knew something would have to change! Like her Aunt Lilly, she began playing with fibers of all types.
Linda says that she approaches her work much like her cooking: not measuring, not following a recipe, always changing the ingredients. She loves to draw the viewer into her piece to see new and exciting areas of interest. She uses mixed media on some pieces as well as paint, both acrylic and watercolor, as well as found objects. Her education in the world of Fiber Arts has been one of taking workshops from nationally known fiber artists along with a passion for reading articles and experimentation with various techniques. Art is ever changing, such is Life. |
